Clay and ceramics have been the inspiring "working and building material of mankind for more than 30,000 years." Therefore, DKG also promotes ceramic design and art and supports research on ceramics as a testimony of cultural history.

Clay, later ceramics, served first for the production of utilitarian and later also artistic objects. On almost every ceramic object can be traced not only the cultural development, but also the creative design will and the innovative power of mankind. With scientific progress, new materials also found their way into ceramics and art, thus enabling new forms of expression.
