The working group is the expert platform for developers, manufacturers and users of fiber-reinforced ceramic and composite materials.

The meetings of the working group are used for technical presentations on topics such as the measurement of interlaminar tensile and shear properties of composite ceramics, the determination of mechanical characteristic values or the challenges that arise in measurements in the high-temperature range. The practical use of ceramic parts in aircraft engines, micro gas turbines or as coatings in the roll bearing industry also falls within the scope of the working group.

Further objectives of the working group are:

Discussion and development of industrial and scientific issues in the field of ceramic fiber composites as well as other fracture-resistant ceramics and natural fiber-derived materials
Development of a scientifically sound understanding of the material and component properties of ceramic fiber composites, both on the basis of experiments and modeling approaches as well as taking into account issues relevant to application
Initiation of joint research and development projects between universities, research institutes and industry
Exchange of experience, promotion of young talent and networking
