AKK research and promotion award

  • AKK research award
    This prize is awarded for an outstanding dissertation or equivalent achievement in the field of carbon research. The award is connected with a premium of 1000,- Euro and a two-year membership in the working group "Carbon" in the DKG (AKK).

    The award is presented during the AKK spring meeting of a current year and is associated with an invited short lecture to present the work. A one-time payment of 200,- Euro will be granted by the AKK for incurred travel expenses.

    The supervisors (f/m/d) of the theses are entitled to nominate candidates. Personal applications are possible.

    The scientific work to be awarded may not have been completed more than two years before the closing date and the proposed young scientist (f/m/d) may only be older than 35 years in justified exceptional cases.

    Proposals can only be submitted electronically. The required documents include the paper to be awarded, an appreciation of the scientific work of the young scientist (f/m/d) – maximum two pages – a curriculum vitae, list of publications and the current address of the candidate (f/m/d).

    All documents are to be submitted to the AKK board chairman (currently: PD Prof. Dr. Arndt-Peter Schinkel) and by e-mail to:

  • AKK promotion award
    This award is given for an outstanding thesis (master's degree or equivalent) in the field of carbon research. The award is connected with a premium of 500,- Euro and a two-year membership in the working group "Carbon" in the DKG (AKK).

    The award is presented during the AKK spring meeting of a current year and is combined with an invited short lecture to present the work. A one-time payment of 200,- Euro will be granted by the AKK to cover travel expenses.

    The supervisors of the theses are entitled to nominate candidates. Self-applications are not possible.

    The proposals can only be submitted electronically. The required documents include the dissertation to be awarded, an appreciation of the scientific work of the young scientist (f/m/d) – maximum two pages – a curriculum vitae, list of publications and the current address of the candidate (f/m/d).
