Design, Arts and Culture
Clay and ceramics have been the most inspiring „raw material and construction material of humanity“. According to its statutes, the DKG promotes ceramic arts and design and supports ceramic research as a document of cultural history.
For more than 30.000 years, mankind has been using clay (and later ceramics) to produce aesthetic and practical objects. Using these objects, it is possible to understand cultural development, creative will and innovative ability of humans throughout different ages of time. With scientific progress, new materials made their entrance into the arts and enabled new possibilites of expression.
The DKG promotes artists in the ceramic field to fully do justice to the meaning of ceramics as a raw and building material.
